Shepherd Huts in Kent
We are excited to offer a bespoke shepherd hut design and build service in South East Kent.
We can scratch build traditional huts to suit your space and lifestyle suitable for a garden office, studio, or perhaps an extra bedroom.
The huts are built using traditional materials, English oak chassis and cast iron wheels and running gear.
Our huts are built to order one at a time.

The beginning
Construction begins with foundry cast wheels and running gear. The chassis is constructed to traditional sizes in English green oak, mortised and tenoned jointing with traditional tapered pegs.

Formation of chassis
Next we begin to form the completed chassis, ready to disassemble and transport to site if needed.

Fabrication of body
`Now it's time to construct the upper body in treated timber, to form the main shell of the hut.

Transportation to site
Assembly begins! Now the skeleton of the body is assembled.

Cladding and roof
Structure is clad in sheathing, membrane, galvanised corrugated iron and installation of double glazed oak-framed windows and doors. All fixings are stainless steel.

Internal works
Internal works include electrical installation, first-fix and solid insulation.

Finishes
Next we began to finish internally and frame form the sleeping area.

Decoration and final finishes
Decorating internally and externally to all surfaces.
