Sea Purse, St Margaret's Bay
This was an extensive refurbishment to a Kentish seaside home - including reconfigure of floor plan and full planning application.
This property was our client's childhood home. It was in desperate need of some TLC (given it's exposed location) and some serious updating. The floor plan didn't work for modern day living, a growing adult family and a dog!
The house is situated on the Kent Coast and overlooks the Channel - the views are unrivalled, and the light is just perfection. The aim was to make the most of this vista, so we completely opened up the ground floor and created an open plan, kitchen, living and dining area - which all looks out to sea. The addition of a large entrance hall and boot-room made for that ever needed extra storage, and a practical place to shelter from the elements. The house has been fully refurbished, including new windows, doors, floors, external rendering, plumbing, decorating and wiring.
All joinery elements were manufactured in our workshop including the handmade, bespoke kitchen. Worktops are Quartz and installed by a local company.
Storm shutters were made to sit over the large picture frame windows for when bad weather hits. Drainage holes were installed in the sea wall to reduce the risk of flooding.
This was a wonderful project to work on, and we are beyond proud of the result of quality craftsmanship Christian Builders produces.
